This unit is aimed at pharmaceutical representatives and covers the provision of medicines in the National Health Service related to the treatment of arthritis.
Learners will study the structure of different types of joints, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in detail, along with the treatments available on the NHS, following the appropriate NICE and EULAR guidelines.
Learners will also gain knowledge of related conditions, including juvenile idiopathic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout and psoriatic arthritis as well as infectious diseases related to arthritis and associated treatments available on the NHS.
This unit is assessed by a multiple choice exam made up of 50 question, lasting 45 minutes. Passing it will gain you 5 credits.
Please note that the content in section 4.2.4 of Volume 1 of the learning materials regarding the use of statistics in medicine may be examined in all other units. You should bring a calculator to all exams.
