Application process

​​Thank you for your interest in registering for the ABPI Exam. The steps below outline how to get started. 

1. Create a profile on this website here. Please note that you will need to upload a passport-style photo from your computer to complete the process. Ensure that you have selected the correct qualification (click here for more information).

​2. Order learning materials. These cover what you need to learn for all of the units that comprise the qualification. Most of the information is contained within the two paper learning manuals; additionally you should know the relevant clauses of the current Code of Practice, the role of company representatives in collecting drug safety information, and the structure and working of the NHS. The NHS content is provided by email immediately after the closing date for the exam where you are booked to sit Unit 1.

3. When you have received learning materials and estimated how much time you will need to study, book an exam (click here for a summary of how to book an exam). Once booked, exams can only be moved up until approximately four weeks before the exam date. This will be advertised during the booking process - please make a note of it.

Once you have booked an exam, the ABPI will contact you with any further relevant information regarding your booking if necessary. It is your responsibility to turn up to the correct sitting date and location.
